Staff Electrical Engineer
Western Electricity Coordinating Council seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer.
Requirements include: (1) Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook; (2) Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to resolve conflicts among stakeholders with divergent interests; (3) Master's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems engineering or a closely related field involving energy systems or electrical power; (4) one year experience as an electrical engineer working with any combination of the following duties: applying load and resource data; locational marginal pricing (LMP) and economic simulation (Production Cost) Models and Tools using security constrained commitment and dispatch software; or spreadsheet or database programming applied to power systems analysis. Alternatively, if a candidate has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems engineering or a closely related field instead of a master's, they would require three years of the experience described in (4) above. Travel is required 1-5 times annually to locations in the United States, usually 1-5 days per trip. Travel may be required to attend training sessions, participate in conferences or present information on behalf of WECC.
