Laborer - Department of Public Works
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS LABORER
The Village of Armada laborer self-motivated individual for the position of Department of Public Works, Laborer. Pay range will depend on licensing and experience/qualifications. Applicants must be a graduate of High School with a willingness to learn, have a valid driver’s license with a CDL-B w/air brake endorsement along with a clean driving record for the last five (5) years. Possession of both water distribution S-3 and chemical treatment D-3 licenses is preferred, but not necessary.
These licenses will be mandatory within 4 years of hire which requires the applicant to have the ability to do basic mathematics. Applicant must pass a background check, a physical and an MDOT drug screen. Applicant will continue to be subject to random screening if hired. Employee will be required to be on call on a rotating basis. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, building/grounds maintenance, water/sewer system operation/maintenance, street system maintenance, traffic control, snow and ice control, painting, maintenance of all village equipment, along with working with the public.
