Direct Response Email and Online Coordinator
The McClatchy Audience Division is looking for an innovative Direct Response Coordinator responsible for our email and online sales acquisition channels across our 30 newspapers. This position will implement strategies and develop tactics to help grow our print and digital subscriptions and promote our services and products. This individual will provide and create best practice solutions and trends in social and email marketing.
POSITION SUMMARY
This individual will report to the Group Director of Fan Development (Email, Search, Social, Online). The Direct Response Coordinator will have responsibility for designing, customizing and executing a series of day-to-day email, SEO, social media, and online campaigns directed at helping grow our print and digital subscriptions for all of the 30 McClatchy newspapers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure success for each of the McClatchy Newspapers.
- Responsible for the design and implementation of comprehensive direct response sales plans that deliver the needed volume to support each newspaper’s core print & digital products.
- Works to develop the needed creative offerings to ensure the features and benefits of each product is communicated to its targeted potential buyers.
- Analyze and target audience with personalized email and online campaigns to drive paid subscriptions.
- Develop and implement programs to drive email acquisition for lead generation.
- Execute A/B testing of campaigns to maximize response and conversions.
- Ability to interpret and produce KPIs from email performance insights.
- Ensure email campaigns follow the industry policy and best practices.
- Responsible for supporting, communicating and adhering to each of the newspaper’s mission, vision and core values.
- Responsible for knowing, communicating and delivering on the total volumes and subscription revenue targets for each of the newspapers.

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a prior work history that demonstrates strong and successful leadership ability and a solid understanding of complexities of email and social marketing.
Working knowledge of Cheetah Digital (email automation platform), customizing and HTML coding and graphic editing software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple-channel campaigns covering 30 different market brands.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
