Personnel Commissioner
The Board of Trustees of the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) is seeking individuals who are interested in serving as a Commissioner on the SCCCD Personnel Commission. The initial appointment will be for a three year term beginning December 2020. There is a $50 stipend for the monthly meetings, which are usually held on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Special meetings may occasionally be scheduled.
To be eligible for appointment, a person must meet all of the following requirements:
1. Be a registered voter and resident within the territorial jurisdiction of the community college district.
2. Be a known adherent to the principle of the merit system, per Education Code 88064(c).
3. Not be currently employed by the State Center Community College District in any capacity, or have a business relationship with the District.
A known adherent to the principle of the merit system means a person who, by the nature of his or her prior public or private service, has given evidence that he or she supports the concept of employment, continuance of employment, promotional opportunities, and other related matters on the basis of merit and fitness.
