Social Services Specialist
St. Louis County is seeking Social Services Specialists to work in our Public Health & Human Services Department.
Minimum Qualifications are a high school diploma or its equivalent and possession of a valid driver’s license.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2019. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $18.80 - $25.49 per hour.
Para-professional work providing a variety of customer and case management services for individuals served by the Public Health and Human Services Department.
An employee in this class performs para-professional direct client services, supports professional staff and provides case management services to customers.
Duties include assessing needs, determining program eligibility, providing direct services, maintaining accurate program records and reports and initiating customer referrals. The work is performed under the direction of assigned staff.

CONSTANT: Near vision; talk/speak; and work inside.
FREQUENT: Lift and carry up to 10 pounds; hear up to 20 feet; move about; sit; stand; walk; work with and around others; customer/public contact.
OCCASIONAL: Far vision; depth perception; visual accommodation; feel; use fingers; grasp; handle; reach; stoop; turn both wrists; work alone; clients with behavioral challenges; extended days and driving.
Selection Process
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
TENTATIVE RECRUITMENT & SCREENING PROCESS SCHEDULE:
- June 4, 2019 - Applicant screening will begin.
- Week of June 17th - Supplemental Question scoring to be completed
