Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Proton Therapy Center, located in beautiful Seattle, Washington, is seeking Registered Nurses to deliver and coordinate the clinical aspects of care for our patients.
About the SCCA Proton Therapy Center:
The SCCA Proton Therapy Center is a cancer treatment center that uses precisely targeted radiation to treat cancer while preserving surrounding healthy tissue. Proton therapy is an advanced form of treatment that allows doctors to focus radiation directly into the tumor, reducing the potential for side effects. Protons are beneficial in treating a broad range of tumors, including those of the brain, central nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, head and neck, breast, lung, and prostate, as well as sarcomas and certain pediatric cancers. The SCCA Proton Therapy Center unites top physician experts in cancer from UW Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital. The SCCA Proton Therapy Center is located on UW Medicine’s Northwest Hospital & Medical Center campus and is the only proton therapy center in a seven-state region.
In this position you will:
Coordinate the clinical aspects of care for patients receiving proton radiation therapy, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve quality outcomes. You will have the opportunity to work with world-class physicians from the University of Washington, covering all specialties and research interests. Our patients come from all over the region, and they have one thing in common – they are delighted that this modality offers another choice for patients with some cancer diagnoses. We treat many children in conjunction with Seattle Children’s Hospital; some are receiving concurrent chemotherapy, and some come for protons alone now to preserve other treatment options in case of reoccurrences later. In all cases you will be part of the large team that forms around our patients’ interests and works for success! This is very interesting work with an opportunity to learn a lot and form lasting bonds with patients, families and co-workers. You will enjoy a great deal of professional autonomy and flexibility.
