Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director, Student Health Services.
Primary Job Duties: Provide vision, leadership, supervision and assessment of all aspects of campus Student Health Services. Delivers independent acute and/or routine medical care to undergraduate and graduate students. Assist Student Affairs leadership with enhancing resources, profile, and influence of the department through, for example, internal and external partnerships (particularly with Counseling Center, Athletics, and Case Management), research and assessment, professional development, and relationship-building. Engage with leaders in the management of emergency/traumatic situations. Delivers independent acute and/or routine medical care to undergraduate and graduate students. Contribute to creating a culture of care and success for all university students from enrollment to commencement by providing exceptional and direct patient care consistent with evidence-based practices. Assist with making connections between personal health and academic success through screenings, patient education, and health promotion initiatives. The Director has limited patient-based Covid-related responsibility as the University maintains a separate operation for testing and oversight for COVID.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in health-related discipline and five to seven years of related experience. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and nationally certified as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred degree from an accredited School of Nursing. Experience with supervision and management of a health and/or wellness program. Knowledge of Point and Click electronic health records system. Experience in accreditation of a campus health services operation is a plus.
This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position requires occasional evening and/or weekend work to meet operational needs and requirements of the position, especially in support of campus outreach programs and/or emergency response protocols, and all Student Affairs positions require performing other mission-specific duties contingent upon student, university and operational needs. This position is considered essential and may be expected to report to work when the campus is closed such as in extreme weather conditions.
