Trade Marketing Senior Analyst, Sales

Responsible to build, deploy and track trade spending budgets. Assist with annual planning, budget reconciliation, MEI compliance and other customer projects. Five (5) years' experience in a sales capacity in CPG, and frozen foods category experience a plus. Trade Marketing experience desired. Must have strong analytics and computer skills. The Trade Marketing Analyst assists the Associate Director of Trade Strategy in developing and executing the strategic sales business plan (e.g trade marketing, sale planning, category management, retail execution) to realize revenue objectives for El Monterey while optimizing the annual trade budget.  The Analyst will collaborate with Sales to identify and to implement profitable business growth opportunities by leveraging advanced analytical capabilities at the national, as well as at the key strategic customer level.


  • Assist in driving and championing the ongoing development and execution of trade architecture and promotion strategy is an important aspect of your responsibility. You will assist in ensuring compliance to pricing architecture across all accounts
  • Assist the Associate Director Trade Strategy on all major MAPS initiatives (annual planning, core void identification and closure, new item launches, budget reconciliation, MEI compliance, and customer-specific growth projects)
  • You will assist in maintaining sustainable and effective investment deployment methodologies for all accounts. Help build, deploy, and track trade spending budgets while identifying ways to increase efficiency.  Be the go-to resource for Field Sales inquiries regarding checkbook reconciliation and facilitate timely resolution by working closely with cross-functional teams as required
  • Your analytical mindset will serve you well as you utilize trade promotion management software to conduct pre and post analysis of specific trade events/activities at the Brand and account level This would include: analyzing business plans, syndicated consumption data, and sales statistics to determine profitable business growth opportunities. Leverage advance analytics to drive category growth
  • Internal collaboration will be key. Assist Associate Director Trade Strategy in working with internal partners to influence and coordinate the efforts of various groups to maximize the return of El Monterey’s investment
  • Facilitate accurate trade planning and accounting practices within MEI


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales capacity in CPG – frozen foods category and trade marketing experience a plus
  • Self-starter with ability to act independently as well as willingness to follow directions
  • Proven ability to influence, develop, and empower Team Members to achieve objectives within a team-centered approach
  • Capacity to learn and apply new concepts
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and ability to learn new software programs at an accelerated pace
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25%) and to work off-shifts as needed
