Construction Project Manager/Project Engineer
The project duration is approximately 8 months starting immediately. Position will be located onsite in the job trailer at Shaver Lake.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain timely and accurate flow of all project information pertaining to assigned vendor responsibility. Ensure assigned vendor conformance with project schedules; maintain overall project schedule when assigned. Develop and update schedules using MS project. Create 3-week lookaheads. Expedite and review assigned vendor drawings and submittals. Attend and document meetings. Assist in preparation of budgets and estimates for assigned vendor work. Review and approve assigned vendor timesheets and billings. Support the on site needs of the Superintendent and Foreman. Reconcile AR reports with assigned vendors. Review and analyze scope change pricing for assigned vendor work. Oversee and coordinate RFI and Submittal processes on assigned project support. Ensure timely material deliveries from assigned vendors. Ensure receipt of assigned vendor record drawings and satisfactory completion of punch lists. Prepare job close-out records and organize files for storage. Maintain professional relationship with customers, Architect, contractors, vendors, and peers; Assist Project Managers in administering assigned vendor contracts. Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
5-10 years experience within commercial construction industry. Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience. Experience with the principles of construction and building trades. Basic estimating and scheduling skills. Must have a focus on safety and familiar with OSHA rules. Knowledge of Title 24 building codes a plus. Ability to speak logically about construction sequences and activities. Ability to read and understand plans and specifications. PC computing skills, MS Office Suite and MS Project, Sage 100. Field experience desirable. Willingness to learn and proactively deal with issue and challenges that arise on site. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ability to work well with others as team member with emphasis on Customer Service. Ability to use independent judgment; self-starting. General knowledge or experience in contract administration and contract terms & conditions. Excellent attendance and punctuality.
