Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

The Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing with planning, organizing, directing, and scheduling nursing services and with supervising the nursing staff to ensure an optimum level of nursing care is delivered and maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices that are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. He or she reports to the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or to the Administrator in the DON's absence.

The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with a current registration and/or license in the state of California. In addition, he or she must have Geriatric or Skilled Nursing experience and good writing and computer skills to maintain required documentation and assessments. He or she can direct and coordinate the activities of others, provide a motivating influence on subordinates and peers, and take ownership in management decisions. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
