Accounting Manager - Orlando Housing Authority
The Orlando Housing Authority is a Moving to Work (MTW) Agency. Under general supervision, the Accounting Manager performs highly responsible financial analysis and accounting work for the programs and activities of the Financial Department.
Work involves preparing financial reports, ensuring sub-ledgers and general ledgers reconcile: preparing supporting documentation for independent audit, supervising accounts payable activities ensuring accuracy and authorization of invoices and purchase orders; performing bank reconciliations; performing general accounting tasks such as posting financial data; preparing journal voucher entries; filing required reports; analyzing and maintaining account balances and account reconciliations; posting entries as needed; analyzing general ledger entries made by other staff; processing contractual payments; ensuring timely payments; analyzing inter-fund (payables and receivables); and performing other duties as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, supplemented by 5-7 years of professional accounting experience. Masters degree in accounting or CPA preferred; Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards and principles. Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations a plus, Non-Profit/Government Accounting a plus. Requires possession and maintenance of a valid Florida driver’s license.
This is a contract position.
Minimum starting salary: $55,000.
