Position: 

Seeking a Full time Veterinary Assistant to work in a busy, fast paced work environment.

Requirements:
•Work directly with Veterinarian in treatment and handling of dogs and cats
•Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
•Able to prioritize multiple demands
•18 yrs. of age or older
•NEEDS TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECKS TO HANDLE CONTROLLED DRUGS.

Duties:
•Work directly with Veterinarian in all types of medical and surgical procedures
•Animal restraint and comfort
•Aseptic surgical prep and sterile technique
•Handle animal tissues, blood, feces, urine and other bodily fluids
•Patient monitoring, medicating, care and feeding
•Maintaining and sterilizing surgical and medical equipment
•Radiology
•Reception, client communication and medical record inputting
•Cashiering
•Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels and exam rooms
•Collecting and preparing blood, fecal and urine specimens for testing
•Light environmental services
•Cleaning and disinfecting hospital
