Senior Traffic Sign Worker
Senior Traffic Sign Worker (Salary: $3442-$4183 per month, + excellent benefits).
Position:
Under direction, to lead oversee, and participate in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for the manufacture, installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of road and traffic signs, road striping, and pavement markings; to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility; and to do related work as required.
Supervision Exercised:
Exercises technical and functional supervision over lower level staff.
Examples of Duties:
Leads, plans, and reviews the work of staff responsible for the manufacture, installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of road and traffic signs, road striping, and pavement markings; plans, directs, and participates in the work of assigned staff; supervises the use and operation of tools, equipment, and materials including paints, lacquers, striping machines, and pneumatic tools; estimates time, materials, and equipment required for assigned jobs; requisitions materials as required; orders parts as necessary and ensures parts ordered are received in a timely fashion; trains assigned employees including in the areas of work methods, techniques, and the use and operation of equipment; verifies work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; performs the full range of Traffic Sign Worker duties; constructs traffic signs according to legal requirements concerning size, shape, and other specifications; constructs road signs; installs traffic and road signs according to State, Federal, and local regulations; operates and maintains equipment; performs traffic and road sign maintenance and repair assignments; responds to and performs emergency repairs to road and traffic signs; installs and maintains road markings including school crossings, cross walks, railroad crossings, and stop warnings; operates road striping equipment to stripe roads; repaints and refinishes a variety of equipment; posts roads for special closures; may perform minor body and fender repair work.
