Position: Plant Operator/Maintenance Worker level 1 or level 2 depending on experience
Annual Pay Range:
Level 1: $55,650 - $66,750 - $77,900 (Grade 6)
Level 2: $63,900 - $76,700 - $89,450 (Grade 7)

Position Summary:
Performs plant operation, maintenance activities and pipeline compliance activities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinates the installation, operation and maintenance of all systems, equipment, and/or instrumentation required to move gas in and out of storage during all modes of operation.
- Reads, interprets, and explains information pertaining to plant operations.
- Monitors plant operation.
- Diagnoses problems, troubleshoots, and makes adjustments.
- Maintains well head and station mechanical systems and equipment, including compressors, dehydrators, pressure and flow control systems, and auxiliary equipment. Coordinates major overhauls and repairs.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Maintains records and logs.
- Coordinates maintenance of plant's physical appearance.
- Responds to callouts as required.
- Performs all work in accordance with safe work practices and approved operating procedures.
- May be required to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Performs inspections required by various government agencies.
Level 1 Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:
- 1-5 years of experience performing plant operation and maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of mechanical and control systems, including their underlying theory, practices, and principles.
- Understanding various testing and calibration equipment including meters and pressure gauges.
- Ability to interpret piping and instrument diagrams and apply information from technical manuals
Level 2 Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements:
- 6 - 10 years of experience performing plant operation and maintenance activities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and control systems, including their underlying theory, practices, and principles.
- Thorough understanding various testing and calibration equipment including meters and pressure gauges.
- Experience with interpreting piping and instrument diagrams and applying information from technical manuals.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements (Level 1 & Level 2):
- Ability to operate computer based control systems, data collection equipment, and support instrumentation.
- Ability to do precision work requiring visual acuity, fine motor skills, and concentration.
- Ability to maintain training and qualifications in accordance with applicable operating procedures
- Ability to perform physically demanding work involving walking, standing, bending, twisting, wrist turning, grasping, lifting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, or assuming awkward postures for 8+ hours.
- Manual dexterity adequate to effectively use basic hand tools including, but not limited to, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
- Ability to repair, troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and install parts and equipment.
- Ability to do precision work requiring visual acuity, fine motor skills, and concentration.
- Ability to work in adverse weather or terrain conditions.
- Ability to safely operate Company vehicles/equipment and perform inspections and minor maintenance as necessary and in compliance with Company policies and state/local laws. Valid California driver's license, any required certifications and/or endorsements, and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to hear normal voice at 3 feet; warning signals/horns during plant operations; near/distant vision for driving and reading information to complete work assignments.
- Moderate/severe exposure to uneven surfaces, noise, vibration, high-speed rotating machinery, and odorant inhalation.
- Must be able to differentiate color; must be able to smell natural gas (Odorant); safe handling of materials at extreme temperatures; exposure to high-pressure natural gas piping and process systems; exposure to confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 lbs.
