Graphic Designer
Gazette Community News, d/b/a Pikes Peak Newspapers, located in beautiful downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, is seeking a talented, detail oriented, self-motivated Graphic Designer to create visually appealing, integrated and effective communications and experiences for Pikes Peak Newspapers readers.
Your Day: Using your passion for design and your think outside the box mentality you will create print and digital layouts that stress newsworthiness and bring stories to life for Pikes Peak Newspapers readers. You will work closely with the editorial staff to brainstorm and build creative and innovative publications each week to be distributed to community news readers across the Pikes Peak region You will help design, create and maintain a news website and archive system for Pikes Peak Newspapers, to help share and preserve local stories that will inform, entertain and engage for years to come. Using your strong visual and typographic awareness, you will develop visual designs and page layouts that address business, brand and market.
You Have:
- Design experience - a minimum of 1 to 2 years design experience.
- Design Principles - you have a strong eye for layout design and typography and solid conceptual skills to produce powerful campaigns.
- Software Proficiency - you have a high level of proficiency using the full Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft office and have a solid understanding of general design principles.
- Motivation and Drive - you are a self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups.
