The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is currently recruiting for a Construction Manager in the Operations / Construction Management section of the District. Working under general supervision of the Operations Engineer, the position requires a high degree of technical knowledge, supervisory ability, and independent judgment. The position works independently while supervising other like positions and program elements. Must be capable of initiating, planning, and coordinating assigned tasks, and is responsible for the construction of District facilities and assure compliance with District plans and specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires a high school education or equivalent, supplemented by technical, academic, and/or on-the-job training in appropriate disciplines, including but not limited to engineering, construction, and surveying. The position requires five years of increasingly responsible and varied experience in the construction of public works projects (underground utilities preferred), including two years at a supervisory level and two years’ experience at a level commensurate with the Senior Construction Technician, demonstrating increasingly responsible and varied work experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field with specialization in construction, may substitute for up to two years’ experience. A valid California Driver License is required.
