Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District is recruiting for a Facilities Technician I-II Application Deadline 2/9/18.
The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District has an immediate opening for a Facilities Technician in the District’s Operations and Maintenance Department. Job duties include assisting in the maintenance and operational activities of storm drain pipelines, valves, fences, dams, reservoirs, channels, outfall structures, levees, electrical and diesel powered pumps, sprinkler irrigation systems, and drainage basins. Performing the duties of the job requires working in an environment using good safety practices. The assignments of this position are primarily outdoors and requires good physical condition to withstand hot summer and cool rainy winter working conditions. Experience in construction and the ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks including electrical and mechanical maintenance are also desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Facilities Technician I position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related work experience or training. The Facilities Technician II position requires three years of related work experience, including at least two years’ experience at a level commensurate with the Facilities Technician I position. A valid California Driver License, good driving record, and the ability to obtain a “Hazardous Materials” endorsement within six months of employment are required. Successful candidate must reside in the Fresno/Clovis area for on-call emergency purposes (see job description).
