Job Duties: The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine seeks a licensed clinical Social Work Practitioner to work full time position to provide clinical services via telepsychiatry to patients presenting in the emergency departments of hospitals affiliated with the North Carolina Statewide Telepsychiatry Program (NC-STeP). Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: psychiatric evaluation including assessment of patients’ presenting problem(s), mental status, behavioral and social circumstances, family dynamics and resources; biopsychosocial formulation and DSM diagnosis; crisis intervention; independently triage and prioritize patients for disposition including hospitalization, emergency treatment, early appointment or routine appointment. There will be opportunities to participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, psychiatry residents, and other health professional trainees.
Work Schedule: Saturday and Sunday plus 3 weekdays (negotiable); includes weekend work may include some holidays. Work hours are 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by the Department: Certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.
