Position Summary:
The University of Idaho Counseling and Testing Center (CTC ) is seeking a clinical social worker to join our staff of mental health providers and provide a variety of clinical services as well as leadership in case management services for students. The position requires a strong foundation as a general clinician, expertise providing therapy and assessment to high acuity clients as well as experience coordinating mental health services. The Clinical Social Worker duties will focus primarily on direct service to students but will also include a mix of administrative and programmatic responsibilities. The direct service includes initial evaluations, crisis screenings, and individual and group counseling. The programmatic work includes administration of the suicide prevention program, developing and maintaining a strong referral network in the Moscow-Pullman communities, facilitating referrals to community providers, coordinating with hospitals following discharge of students and consulting with CTC clinicians regarding high acuity cases. In addition, the Clinical Social Worker will serve as liaison with one campus department in support of the CTC's outreach programming. There may be opportunities to provide clinical supervision, lead training activities associated with their job responsibilities and develop a social work field placement and/or internship.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in social work or related field leading to eligibility for licensure as a clinical social worker in the State of Idaho.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in counseling adults.
• Ability to relate collegially and collaboratively with others.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in providing culturally competent clinical services to a diverse client population.
• Previous clinical experience working with clients who have acute and/or persistent mental health issues.
