Job Description:
The City of McCall is actively recruiting a new Water System Manager. McCall is a four-season, recreation-oriented mountain community in central Idaho. McCall is approximately 100 miles north of Boise and is at an elevation of 5000 feet. The City of McCall is notable for the wide variety of nearby outdoor recreation opportunities and high percentage of second homes. The resident population is 2,991 (2010 Census), but the area population grows dramatically during the peak summer and winter seasons. McCall is a full-service city, providing police protection, water service, street maintenance, a 27-hole municipal golf course, and an airport with a 6,100' runway, among other services.
The Water System Manager serves at the pleasure of the Public Works Director. The primary function of the Water System Manager is to provide leadership, planning, and administration of water utility related operations and activities within the City of McCall. The successful candidate will preferably have a minimum of six years of experience with water treatment and water distribution systems as well as three years of staff management/supervisory experience. Successful candidate must have or be able to obtain within twelve months of hire, an IBOL Class III Water Treatment Plant Operator license and an IBOL Class II Water Distribution Operator license. The starting salary is $65,000 for this position, actual salary will depend upon the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
