PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Wastewater Treatment Lab Analyst/ Environmental Compliance Inspector plans, organizes and conducts a variety of water pollution laboratory tests and analyses necessary for the waste water treatment plant to
remain in compliance with state and federal mandates; operates and inspects the laboratory and maintains a quality level which is within EPA
guidelines; performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education: 2 years experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment or similar laboratory , and a high school
diploma or equivalent
Licenses: Valid CDL, possession of, or the ability to obtain a Grade I Laboratory Analyst Cert., and a Grade I Environmental Compliance Inspector Cert. within 12 months of appointment. Classification as a I/II is dependent on State Certification and promotion is automatic upon obtaining
appropriate certificates for a level II.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
Only those applicants who meet the qualification standards of this position
by the application filing deadline will be allowed to participate in the examination process. Examination scores determine standing on Civil Service eligibility lists. The City Manager, upon recommendation of the department head, will make the final selection and appointment from the established eligibility list.
The examination process may consist of the following parts: Application
Package Review: Qualifying Only; Pass/ Fail; Oral Interview 100% Weight
Value. Candidates must earn a score of 70% or higher to be considered
for the eligibility list.
