PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Madera Wastewater Treatment Plant processes over 5 million gallons per day of sewage for the City of Madera. Under direction of the Plant Manager, the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I/II/III performs the full array of plant operator duties including operations, controls and maintenance work and demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures, and work methods associated with assigned duties. Classification as an Operator I/II/III is dependent on certification level from the State of California, and employees are eligible for automatic promotion upon achieving a higher certification level, up to Operator III.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by appropriate coursework in lab testing and analysis Experience:
Operator I/II: 1 year experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment laboratory or the performance of related work.
Operator III: 2 years experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment laboratory or the performance of related work Licenses: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid class C California driver’s license is required. Certification from the California State Water Resources Control Board as a Wastewater Operator Grade I, II, or III.
